日本語の「区間推定」は推定の方法の名前で、英語の interval estimate は推定した区間を指す（AP Statistics の CED topic 3.3 は信頼区間を interval estimate の 1 つとして定め、OpenStax Introductory Statistics 8.1 は confidence interval estimate と書く）。interval estimation は用例コーパスにも参照にも出てこない。
