例文
話し言葉 One sample, two variables: that's a test for independence. 標本が 1 つで変数が 2 つなら、独立性の検定だ。
書き言葉・答案 Use a test of independence to decide whether gender and preferred subject are related. 独立性の検定を用いて、性別と好きな教科に関係があるか判断せよ。
言い間違えやすいところ
- OpenStax Introductory Statistics は test of independence（節の名前）、AP Statistics の CED（2026 年版）は test for independence（topic 3.14 ほか）と書く。
- chi-square test for independence とも言う。見出しの言い方を中に含むので候補には置かなかった。
- 母集団が 2 つ以上で 1 つの変数の分布を比べるときは同質性の検定（test for homogeneity）。
