行列式を、1 つの行（列）の各成分とその余因子の積の和として計算する方法。

Computing a determinant as the sum of the entries of one row (or column) times their cofactors.

話し言葉 Pick the row with the most zeros and do a cofactor expansion along it. 0 がいちばん多い行を選んで、その行で余因子展開しよう。

用例コーパスでは話し言葉（MIT OCW）に Laplace expansion のほうが多く、cofactor expansion はほとんど出てこない。OpenStax Algebra and Trigonometry は expand by minors（小行列式で展開する）と書く。
