定義
各辺に向きが付いたグラフのこと。辺は頂点の順序対 (u, v) で表し、u から v への矢印でかく。
A graph in which every edge has a direction. Each edge is an ordered pair (u, v) of vertices and is drawn as an arrow from u to v.
例文
話し言葉 In a directed graph, the edge from u to v is not the same as the edge from v to u. 有向グラフでは、u から v への辺と v から u への辺は別の辺だ。
書き言葉・答案 Draw the directed graph with vertices 1, 2, 3, 4 and an edge from a to b whenever a < b. Find the in-degree and out-degree of each vertex. 頂点 1, 2, 3, 4 をもち、a < b のとき a から b への辺をもつ有向グラフをかけ。各頂点の入次数と出次数を求めよ。
言い間違えやすいところ
- 書き言葉では digraph と略すことがある（用例コーパスではすべて MIT で、話し言葉より書き言葉に多い）。directed graph は話し言葉（MIT OCW）・書き言葉（MIT の講義ノート）とも digraph より多い。
- 有向グラフの次数は、入ってくる辺の数 in-degree（入次数）と出ていく辺の数 out-degree（出次数）に分けて言う。
- 集合 A 上の関係は、A を頂点とする有向グラフでかける。Levin の本では 2.6 Relations and Graphs に 4 件、Nicholson の線形代数の本では 2.3 Matrix Multiplication に 5 件。
