定義
対数の性質を使って、log(MN) を log M + log N のように分ける（展開）、または逆に 1 つの対数にまとめる（圧縮）こと。

例文
話し言葉 To condense, go backwards: the coefficient becomes an exponent, and the plus becomes a product. まとめるときは逆にたどる。係数は指数に、足し算は掛け算になる。
書き言葉・答案 Expand the logarithm log₂(8x³/√y). Then condense 2 ln x − ln(x + 1) into a single logarithm. log₂(8x³/√y) を対数の和・差に分けよ。また 2 ln x − ln(x + 1) を 1 つの対数にまとめよ。
言い間違えやすいところ
