定義
確率変数のとる値に、その値をとる確率を掛けて足し合わせた値。確率変数の平均。E(X) と書く。
The sum of each value of a random variable times its probability: the mean of the random variable, written E(X).
例文
話し言葉 The expected value is what you'd average out to if you played this game over and over. 期待値は、このゲームを何度も繰り返したときの平均になる値。
書き言葉・答案 Find the expected value of the number of heads in three tosses of a coin. 硬貨を 3 回投げるときの表の出る回数の期待値を求めよ。
