定義
仮説検定で、帰無仮説を棄却する基準にする確率 α。5% や 1% がよく使われる。
The probability α used as the cutoff for rejecting the null hypothesis, often 5% or 1%.
例文
話し言葉 If the significance level is 0.05, we reject when the p-value is below 0.05. 有意水準が 0.05 なら、p 値が 0.05 未満のとき棄却する。
書き言葉・答案 Test the claim at the 5% significance level. 有意水準 5% でその主張を検定せよ。
言い間違えやすいところ
- α は alpha と読む。有意水準は第一種の過誤（Type I error）の確率でもある。
