二次曲線上の点の、焦点までの距離と準線までの距離の比 e。楕円は 0 < e < 1、放物線は e = 1、双曲線は e > 1。
The ratio e of a conic's distance to the focus to its distance to the directrix: 0 < e < 1 for an ellipse, e = 1 for a parabola, e > 1 for a hyperbola.
例文
話し言葉 The closer the eccentricity is to zero, the rounder the ellipse. 離心率が 0 に近いほど、楕円は円に近い。
