「一般角」に当たる決まった名前は、用例コーパスと参照にほとんど出てこない（OpenStax Calculus Volume 1 の 1.3 Trigonometric Functions に for a general angle θ が 1 回）。回転の量として 360° を超える角や負の角を考えることは英語でも同じで、OpenStax Algebra and Trigonometry（7.1 Angles）は positive angle ／ negative angle と呼び、IM Algebra 2（6.10・6.11）は angle of rotation と呼ぶ。θ + 360°n の形の角は coterminal angles（動径が同じ角）と呼ぶ（OpenStax Algebra and Trigonometry 7.1）。

動径の回転の向きと量で表した角。360° を超える角や負の角も含み、動径が同じ角は θ + 360°n（n は整数）と表せる。

話し言葉 400 degrees and 40 degrees are coterminal — they end up in the same place. 400° と 40° は動径が同じ。同じところで止まる。

言い間違えやすいところ
- 日本語版 Wikipedia「一般角」は英語を general angle と書き、OpenStax Calculus Volume 1（1.3）も for a general angle θ と使うが、用例コーパスと参照ではほとんど使わない。
- 動径が同じ角どうしの関係そのもの（30° と 390°）は coterminal angle（エントリ coterminal-angle）。OpenStax Algebra and Trigonometry（7.1）は、360° の整数倍を足し引きしてできる角をまとめて coterminal angles と呼ぶ。
