ベクトル x を行列 A を掛けて Ax に移すような変換。和と実数倍を保つ（T(x + y) = T(x) + T(y), T(kx) = kT(x)）。
A transformation that sends a vector x to Ax for a matrix A; it preserves sums and scalar multiples: T(x + y) = T(x) + T(y) and T(kx) = kT(x).
例文
話し言葉 A linear transformation keeps grid lines parallel and evenly spaced, and keeps the origin fixed. 一次変換では、格子の線は平行で等間隔のままで、原点は動かない。
書き言葉・答案 Find the matrix of the linear transformation that rotates the plane by 90° counterclockwise. 平面を反時計回りに 90° 回転させる一次変換の行列を求めよ。
言い間違えやすいところ
- 日本の高校（旧課程）は「一次変換」、大学の線形代数は「線形変換」「線形写像」と呼ぶ。英語はどちらも linear transformation（linear map とも）。
- 用例コーパスの話し言葉では半分ほどが 3Blue1Brown。OpenStax の 6 冊にはほとんど出てこない（2 件）。
