x percent equals x over one hundred

percentage: 話し言葉話し言葉では percent に次いで多い（ほとんどが Khan Academy）。書き言葉では percent のほうがずっと多い。

もとにする量を 100 としたとき、比べる量がいくつに当たるかで表した割合。記号 % を使い、0.25 を 25% と表す。

A way of writing a number as a part of 100, using the symbol %. For example, 25% means 25 out of every 100, or 0.25.

話し言葉 Percent means out of 100, so 30 percent of 50 is 0.3 times 50, which is 15. パーセントは「100 のうちいくつ」ということ。だから 50 の 30% は 0.3 × 50 で 15 だね。

書き言葉・答案 What percent of 40 is 14? 14 は 40 の何 % にあたるかを求めよ。

percent は数に付けて 25 percent のように言う。percentage は「割合（の大きさ）」を表す名詞で、a large percentage of … のように使う。
歩合も英語では percent で言う。2 割は 20 percent、3 割 5 分は 35 percent。
「割合」（比べる量 ÷ もとにする量）に当たる 1 語は英語に無く、場面で ratio ／ rate ／ fraction ／ percent を使い分ける（エントリ rate）。

米国の講義の書き起こし・字幕（話し言葉）と教科書・講義ノート（書き言葉）で、言い方ごとに数えた回数です。語形変化はまとめ、「…」は 1〜3 語の空き。「数えていない」はその側では数えていないことを示します。
