正方行列の各成分の余因子を並べた行列を転置したもの。A adj(A) = (det A)I が成り立つ。
The transpose of the matrix of cofactors of a square matrix; it satisfies A adj(A) = (det A)I.
例文
話し言葉 Take the matrix of cofactors, transpose it, and you've got the adjugate. 余因子を並べた行列を転置すると、余因子行列になる。

言い間違えやすいところ
- 台帳の見出し「随伴行列」は、日本語では多くの場合、複素共役をとって転置した行列（conjugate transpose、英語でも adjoint と呼ぶことがある）を指す。台帳の langlink（随伴行列 → Conjugate transpose）もそちらで、出典にしなかった。
- 英語の adjoint は余因子行列（古い呼び方）と共役転置の両方に使われる。Nicholson は adjugate（12 件）。
