AP Statistics の CED(Unit 2 の概要・topic 2.8・2.10)は、確率を求める規則全体を the rules of probability と呼ぶ。OpenStax Introductory Statistics の節 Two Basic Rules of Probability P(A ∪ B) = P(A) + P(B)、余事象の確率で、乗法定理は入らない。
The basic properties every probability has: 0 ≤ P(A) ≤ 1, P(S) = 1 for the whole sample space S, and the probability of a union of mutually exclusive events is the sum of their probabilities.
Any probability has to be between zero and one; that's one of the basic rules.
If A and B are mutually exclusive, use the rules of probability to find P(A or B).
