負の向き

日本語の「負の向き」は角の回転の向きの約束で、中身は時計回り。英語では向きをそのまま clockwise と言う。回転の向きとしての「負の向き」は学習指導要領解説・共通テスト／センター試験・日本語版 Wikipedia には出てこない（日本語版 Wikipedia「時計回り・反時計回り」は、数学では反時計回りを正の向き、測量の方位角では時計回りを正の向きとする）。共通テストの問題文の「y 軸上を負の向きに」（令和6年度 本試験 数学I 第3問）は座標が減る向きのことで、英語は in the negative direction（clockwise ではない）。

時計の針と同じ回転の向き。角の負の向き。

例文
話し言葉 A rotation of −90 degrees means 90 degrees clockwise. −90° の回転は、時計回りに 90° のこと。
書き言葉・答案 Rotate the point (0, 3) clockwise by π/2 about the origin, and give the coordinates of the image. 点 (0, 3) を原点のまわりに −π/2 だけ回転した点の座標を求めよ。
