定義
直線に関する対称移動と、その直線に平行な向きの平行移動を続けて行う移動。2 つの移動はどちらを先に行っても同じ図形に移る。
A transformation made of a reflection across a line and a translation in a direction parallel to that line. Doing the two steps in either order gives the same result.
例文
話し言葉 Think of footprints in the sand: each step is flipped over and slid forward, and that's a glide reflection. 砂浜の足跡を思い浮かべよう。1 歩ごとに裏返って前にずれている。これが映進だ。
書き言葉・答案 Triangle ABC has vertices A(1, 2), B(3, 5), and C(4, 1). Find the vertices of its image under a glide reflection: a translation 5 units right followed by a reflection across the x-axis. △ABC の頂点は A(1, 2), B(3, 5), C(4, 1) である。△ABC を x 軸方向に 5 だけ平行移動し、さらに x 軸に関して対称移動した図形の頂点の座標を求めよ。
言い間違えやすいところ
- 日本の中学・高校の教科書では「映進」という名前を使わず、対称移動と平行移動の組み合わせとして扱う。
- 平行移動の向きが対称の軸と平行でなければ glide reflection とは呼ばない。
- 用例コーパスには出てこない。CK-12 Geometry では 8.17 Composite Transformations に 8 件、IM では Geometry 6.4 Distances and Circles に 2 件。
