if p implies q and p is true, then q is true
The rule of inference that if p → q is true and p is true, then q is true.
Any number that ends in 0 is divisible by 10, and 470 ends in 0. So by modus ponens, 470 is divisible by 10.
Use the law of detachment to draw a conclusion: If two angles form a linear pair, then they are supplementary. ∠A and ∠B form a linear pair.
CK-12 Geometry は law of detachment と呼ぶ(2.7 Deductive Reasoning、3 件)。Levin の Discrete Mathematics は modus ponens(1.3、1 件)。
