言い間違えやすいところ
- 先頭の項の係数とは限らない。1 + 2x − 5x² の最高次の係数は、最後の項の −5。
- 係数の 1 は書かないので見落としやすい。x² − 4x + 3 の最高次の係数は 1、−x³ + 4x² − 2 では −1。
- 二次関数 y = ax² + bx + c のグラフは、最高次の係数 a が正なら下に凸（opens upward、エントリ opens-upward）、負なら上に凸（opens downward、エントリ opens-downward）。
