データを小さい順に並べたとき中央にくる値。データの個数が偶数なら中央の 2 つの値の平均。

The middle value of the data in order; with an even number of values, the mean of the two middle values.

例文

言い間違えやすいところ

  • 中央値は第 2 四分位数（Q2）でもある。
  • 図形の「中線」（三角形の頂点と向かい合う辺の中点を結ぶ線分）も英語では median と言う。それは別の見出し median-of-a-triangle。
