いくつかの点や直線が、すべて同じ 1 つの平面上にあること。3 点はつねに同一平面上にあるが、4 点はそうとは限らない。

例文
話し言葉 Any three points are coplanar, because you can always fit a plane through three points. 3 点はいつでも同一平面上にある。3 点を通る平面は必ずとれるからだ。

言い間違えやすいところ
- 日本語は「同一平面上にある」と句で言うが、英語は形容詞 1 語。「4 点は同一平面上にない」は The four points are not coplanar. と書く。
- 直線の場合の対になる語は collinear（同一直線上にある）。
- 用例コーパスで coplanar は書き言葉に少しあり（大半が OpenStax Calculus）、話し言葉には出てこない。CK-12 Geometry は 1.1 Geometry Terms を中心に 11 件使う。
