the open interval from a to b
a < x < b を満たす実数 x 全体で、(a, b) と書く。
An interval that does not include its endpoints: all real numbers x with a < x < b, written (a, b).
The function is increasing on the open interval from 1 to 4, so we don't include the endpoints.
Show that f(x) = x³ − 3x is decreasing on the open interval (−1, 1). f(x) = x³ − 3x
どちらの意味か文脈で判断し、口頭では the open interval from a to b と言えば紛れない。
