位置を時刻で微分したもの。向き（符号）を含む。

How fast position changes over time, with a sign (or direction) that shows which way the object moves.

例文

話し言葉 Velocity is the derivative of position, and negative velocity means it's moving to the left. 速度は位置の導関数で、速度が負なら左に動いている。
書き言葉・答案 The position of a particle is s(t) = t³ − 6t². Find its velocity and acceleration at t = 2. 点の位置が s(t) = t³ − 6t² のとき、t = 2 における速度と加速度を求めよ。
