1 点から出る 2 本の半直線がつくる図形。また、その開きの大きさ（角度）。
The figure formed by two rays that start from the same point, or the size of the opening between them.
例文
話し言葉 This is a right angle, so it's 90 degrees. Anything smaller is acute, and anything between 90 and 180 is obtuse. これは直角だから 90°。それより小さいのが鋭角、90° と 180° の間が鈍角だよ。
書き言葉・答案 Find the measure of angle ABC. ∠ABC の大きさを求めよ。

言い間違えやすいところ
- 鋭角 acute angle、直角 right angle、鈍角 obtuse angle、平角 straight angle。right angle の right は「右」ではなく「直」の意味。
- ∠ABC は英語でも頂点が真ん中の B（the vertex is B）。英語では角そのもの ∠ABC と、その大きさ m∠ABC を記号で書き分けることがある。共通テストの問題文は区別せず ∠ABC = 60° のように書く。
