x が a から b まで変わるときの (f(b) − f(a))/(b − a)。2 点を結ぶ直線（割線）の傾きに等しい。
The change in f(x) divided by the change in x between two points; the slope of the secant line through them.
例文
話し言葉 From x = 1 to x = 3, the average rate of change is just the slope of the secant line. x = 1 から x = 3 までの平均変化率は、割線の傾きにほかならない。
