見出しの「切片の弧」は学習指導要領解説に無い、本プロジェクトの訳語。日本の数A は「弧 AB に対する円周角」と言い、角の側から弧を「切り取られた弧」と呼ばない。CK-12 Geometry は intercepted arc と呼ぶ（6.14 Inscribed Angles in Circles・6.16 Angles On and Inside a Circle ほか、20 件）。

円周角や中心角の 2 辺が円から切り取る弧のうち、角の内側にある部分。
The arc of a circle that lies inside an angle, cut off by the two sides of the angle, such as the arc between the sides of an inscribed angle or a central angle.
例文
話し言葉 An inscribed angle is half its intercepted arc, so if the arc is 80 degrees, the angle is 40. 円周角は、それに対する弧の中心角の半分だから、弧が 80° なら角は 40° だ。
書き言葉・答案 Inscribed angle ABC intercepts arc AC, and the measure of arc AC is 110°. Find m∠ABC. 弧 AC に対する中心角が 110° のとき、弧 AC に対する円周角 ∠ABC を求めよ。
言い間違えやすいところ
- 英語では「円周角は intercepted arc の半分」のように弧の度数で言える（arc measure）。日本では同じことを「同じ弧に対する中心角の半分」と中心角で言う。
- 動詞は intercept。The angle intercepts arc AC.（その角は弧 AC を切り取る＝弧 AC に対する角）。
- 用例コーパスでは話し言葉（The Organic Chemistry Tutor）・書き言葉（OpenStax Algebra and Trigonometry）とも少ない。IM は 0 件。
