定義
x を a より大きい側から a に近づけたときの極限。
The limit of f(x) as x approaches a from values greater than a.
例文
話し言葉 The limit from the right is 3, but from the left it's 1, so the limit doesn't exist. 右側極限は 3、左側極限は 1 なので、極限は存在しない。
書き言葉・答案 Evaluate lim_{x→2⁺} (x − 2)/|x − 2|. lim_{x→2+0} (x − 2)/|x − 2| を求めよ。
言い間違えやすいところ
- 学習指導要領解説（数学III）は lim_{x→+0} と書き、日本語版 Wikipedia「片側極限」は x → a⁺ などと並べて x → a + 0 の書き方を挙げる。OpenStax は x → a⁺ と書き、as x approaches a from the right と言う（講義では from the positive direction とも言う。Khan Academy）。
