米国の Geometry は、2 直線の内側で交わる直線の同じ側にある角の組に same-side interior angles という名前を付け、2 直線が平行なら和が 180°（supplementary）になることを定理として扱う（CK-12 Geometry 3.7 Same Side Interior Angles）。同じ組を consecutive interior angles とも呼ぶ（英語版 Wikipedia「Transversal (geometry)」の節の名前）。中学校学習指導要領解説（第 2 学年 B 図形）は平行線の性質として同位角・錯角を挙げ、「同側内角」は出てこない（日本語版 Wikipedia にも無い）。
定義
2 本の直線に 1 本の直線が交わってできる角のうち、2 直線の内側にあり、交わる直線に対して同じ側にある 2 つの角。2 直線が平行なら、和は 180° になる。
A pair of angles formed when a transversal crosses two lines, lying between the two lines and on the same side of the transversal. If the two lines are parallel, same-side interior angles are supplementary.
例文

言い間違えやすいところ
- 錯角や同位角と違い、平行線の同側内角は等しくならず、和が 180°（supplementary、エントリ supplementary-angle）になる。
- same-side interior angles と consecutive interior angles は同じ角の組を指す。
- 2 直線の外側で同じ側にある組は same-side exterior angles（エントリ same-side-exterior-angles）。
