グラフの移動の言い方

x 軸方向に −3 は 3 units to the left のように向きの語で言う。もとの関数は parent function と呼ぶ。
日本
関数のグラフの移動を「x 軸方向に p、y 軸方向に q だけ平行移動」と軸の方向で言う（高等学校学習指導要領解説 数学I）。
米国
OpenStax Algebra and Trigonometry は移動を 3 units to the right ／ to the left のように向きの語で言い（IM も同じ）、もとの関数を parent function、正弦曲線の中心線を midline、横のずれを phase shift と呼ぶ。
