学習指導要領解説には (xⁿ)′ = nxⁿ⁻¹ の公式の名前が出てこない。AP の CED（topic 2.5）と OpenStax Calculus は power rule と呼び、名前で指して使う。ja.alt の「べき乗則」は学習指導要領解説に無い。日本語版 Wikipedia の「冪乗則」（べき乗則）は統計の power law の名前で、微分のこの公式とは別の概念。
式と読み方

(xⁿ)′ = nxⁿ⁻¹ という微分の公式。
The rule that the derivative of xⁿ is nxⁿ⁻¹.
例文
話し言葉 Power rule: bring the exponent down in front and subtract one from it. xⁿ の微分は、指数を前に出して指数から 1 を引く。
書き言葉・答案 By the power rule, the derivative of x⁵ is 5x⁴. xⁿ の微分の公式より、x⁵ の導関数は 5x⁴ である。
言い間違えやすいところ
- 対数の性質（power rule for logarithms）や積分（power rule for integrals）にも同じ名前がある。
