日本語ではバウムクーヘン積分と呼ばれ（日本語版 Wikipedia の記事名）、学習指導要領解説には出てこない。OpenStax Calculus Volume 1 は disk・washer と並ぶ節（Volumes of Revolution: Cylindrical Shells）で method of cylindrical shells として扱う。見出しの「シェル法」は学習指導要領解説に無い、本プロジェクトの訳語。

定義
y 軸などのまわりの回転体を薄い円筒の皮の集まりと考え、V = 2π∫ₐᵇ x f(x) dx で体積を求める方法。

例文

言い間違えやすいところ
- AP Calculus の CED（2020 年版）は回転体の体積を disc method と washer method（topic 8.9–8.12）で扱い、shell method の topic はない。
- 「バウムクーヘン」（Baumkuchen）は用例コーパスに出てこない。英語では shells と言う。
