定義
事象 A と事象 B がともに起こるという事象。A ∩ B と書く。
The event that both of the events A and B happen, written A ∩ B.
例文
話し言葉 The intersection of two events is where both happen, so think A and B. 積事象は両方が起こるところだから、A かつ B と考えよう。
書き言葉・答案 A die is rolled. Let event A be rolling an even number and event B be rolling a number greater than 3. Find the intersection of events A and B. さいころを 1 個投げる。偶数の目が出る事象を A、3 より大きい目が出る事象を B とする。積事象 A ∩ B を求めよ。
言い間違えやすいところ
- AP Statistics の CED（topic 2.5）は P(A ∩ B) を P(A intersect B) とも書く。「かつ」は and、「または」は or。
