米国の高校の資料（CED・OpenStax・IM・CK-12）には名前が出てこないので、中身を言う（rewrite a sin θ + b cos θ as a single sine function、the sum of the roots is −b/a、the set of all points such that …）。

日本

「三角関数の合成」「解と係数の関係」「軌跡」を名前の付いた内容として扱う（高等学校学習指導要領解説）。

米国

OpenStax・CED・IM・CK-12・Levin・Nicholson に Vieta’s formulas・locus の語と、三角関数の合成の名前は出てこない（大学の微分方程式の講義 MIT OCW 18.03 は、合成してできた形を amplitude-phase form と呼ぶ）。中身を文で言うことになる。
